Yes, although it does have a seasonal element to it . Most herds are grazed from March /April through to end of October/early November. They are then housed during the wettest months so that they don’t damage the ground for the future.

Whilst housed feed is mostly based around fermented grass (silage), made during the summer months, with supplements of maize or wheat.

Interestingly since their diet alters throughout the year, so does the colour of the butter, which can range from deep yellow to pale yellow.
