Flavoured Butter – M&S Inspired

Flavoured butters are a great addition to any home cook’s freezer, perfect for easily elevating a dish with delicious elements of herbs, spices and real cotswold butter. Alternatively if you are hosting an upcoming dinner party and want to put together a wow-worthy butter board follow our tips and tricks to recreate M&S flavoured butters at home! 

Garlic and Herb Butter

Ingredients:

  • 250g Cotswold Butter
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 10g parsley
  • 1og rosemary
  • 10g thyme
  • 5g red pepper flakes (optional)

Method:

Step 1: Cotswold Butter out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature so it softens

Step 2:When the butter reaches room temperature put the butter in a bowl along with your minced garlic, parsley, rosemary, thyme, (and optional red pepper flakes if you want a kick!) and mix until combined.

Step 3: You now have delicious garlic and herb butter that you can use straight away, or to create pre-portioned butters to use in cooking place onto cling film and roll into a log and keep in the fridge, once it has taken shape cut into portions and keep in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Chilli and Lime Butter

Ingredients:

  • 250g Cotswold Butter
  • 1 red chilli
  • 2 limes
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon of chilli flakes

Method:

Step 1: Take your Cotswold Butter out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature so it softens

Step 2:When the butter reaches room temperature put the butter in a bowl. Add your chilli flakes, crushed garlic, zest of 2 lines and 1 tablespoon of lime juice and combine until mixed.

Step 3: You now have delicious chilli and lime butter that you can use straight away, or to create pre-portioned butters to use in cooking place onto cling film and roll into a log and keep in the fridge, once it has taken shape cut into portions and keep in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Truffle Butter

Ingredients:

  • 250g Cotswold Butter
  • 1 teaspoon truffle oil
  • 2 teaspoons of grated parmesan cheese
  • Pepper taste

Method:

Step 1: Take your Cotswold Butter out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature so it softens

Step 2:When the butter reaches room temperature put the butter in a bowl. Add your truffle oil and mix well to combine.

Step 3: Add your grated parmesan cheese and mix well.

Step 4: You now have delicious truffle butter that you can use straight away, or to create pre-portioned butters to use in cooking place onto cling film and roll into a log and keep in the fridge, once it has taken shape cut into portions and keep in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Peppercorn Butter

Ingredients:

  • 250g Cotswold Butter
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground peppercorns

Method:

Step 1: Take your Cotswold Butter out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature so it softens

Step 2:When the butter reaches room temperature put the butter in a bowl along with the coarsely ground peppercorns and mix until ingredients combine.

Step 4: You now have delicious peppercorn butter that you can use straight away, or to create pre-portioned butters to use in cooking place onto cling film and roll into a log and keep in the fridge, once it has taken shape cut into portions and keep in the freezer for up to 1 month.
