Garlic Bread

Garlic bread is a versatile and delicious accompaniment that adds a burst of flavour to various meals and occasions. It is particularly good when served alongside pasta dishes, enhancing the savoury flavours of Italian cuisine. Whether enjoyed at barbecues and grilling gatherings, where it complements the smoky flavours of grilled meats, or as a side to soups and salads, garlic bread provides a satisfying crunch and an extra depth of taste. It’s also a popular choice for potlucks and parties, as it can be easily prepared in large quantities and enjoyed as a finger food. For movie nights or snack time, garlic bread satisfies cravings with its buttery, garlicky goodness. No matter the occasion, garlic bread is a beloved choice that elevates any meal with its aromatic allure and irresistible flavours.

Ingredients:

  • 1 French baguette or Italian loaf
  • ½ cup (113g) Cotswold Butter, softened
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Slice the baguette or loaf in half horizontally, creating two long halves.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the softened Cotswold Butter, minced garlic, parsley and black pepper until well combined.

  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread. You can be generous with the spread, ensuring that every inch is covered with the flavourful mixture.

  5. Optional: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic butter for an extra cheesy kick.

  6. Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet or directly on the oven rack and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy on the edges.

  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Slice the bread into individual servings and serve warm.

Enjoy your homemade garlic bread as a delicious side dish or as a crowd-pleasing appetiser for any occasion. The combination of garlic, herbs, and butter creates a tantalising aroma and a flavourful crust that pairs perfectly with soups, pastas, or as a standalone treat.
